Its been a busy couple of weeks, wow a bit of a whirlwind we were in Calgary for a week, then we came back just in time for my nieces birthday Party at the beginning of March. Addysen Olivia is 5, I can't believe she is 5 it felt like yesterday that she was a new baby in the ICU struggling for her little life. She is now a beautiful little girl!!! We love you Addy, Madeline's best friend, cousin & and a close as she can me Sister. For Addysen's birthday we headed to Playnation/Uplay/ PlayAbby oh man so many name changes in as little as a half a year! She invited her entire preschool class as well as a few extra special friends.

My beautiful niece all dolled up in her birthday tutu outfit, she was so cute in it!
Playing pass the presents with all of her friends, like musical chairs but instead when the music stops they open a new wrapping paper of the present.

Decorating

I absolutely LOVE decorating. I love changing up different areas in my house often, I will go to Home Sense and find something super fun or looking on pinterest . I have done a few rooms in my mom & dad, and my sisters houses. I have helped a friend do a room in her house! Part of me wishes that I would of gone into interior design, I would love to do decorating for a living.

We decided on Saturday that we were going to sell our sectional, and within a few hours it was gone!
So friends came over that evening, and that evening the guys went to the movies and us ladies redecorated my Great Room! I am in Love!!!! Thanks Lisa
I love the vintage touches, the scale, old door, old windows. I love the Curly Willow that I had outside my front door. I love Burlap and cream!! I just LOVE LOVE this room its Fabulous!!!!
So since we Stole my pillow from outside, the one with the bird on it, I had to make a trip to Home Sense to get another pillow and VOILA this is what I found. Also LOVE!!! I changed my wreath to Spring and put in my Garden Fleur de Le and done!! Love this!
I have been looking for artwork for Madeline's room and found nothing, so I was in a scrapbook store a new one in Mission, which is fabulous! I found this paper and embellishments, and thought I could make my own canvas'. So a quick trip to the dollar store and I found these canvas' a great afternoon activity!!! I love how it turned out!

Anyways I just thought I would post something I am passionate about!!! Thanks for taking a look

SKIING!!

So Saturday we decided to head out to Hemlock to go skiing, it was Madeline's first time skiing. We wanted to start when she was 3 but we just didn't find the time to do it. So I signed her up for Skiing Lessons and we were ready to go! She was Super Excited! I decided not to ski this time, as I didn't know how she would do and didn't want to get on skis and then have to right away have to take them off to be with her. Well it went so well that I regretted not putting skis on as well!
Here she is showing off her ski boots! I told her that she had to walk like a penguin in them she thought that was super fun!

Here she is getting her skis, we decided to rent this time and a few more times to see how she likes it! We are going again on Friday night, Madeline can't stop talking about it! She loves it!
Here she is waiting for her lesson, so daddy is showing her how to side walk in her skis, to be honest she did get a bit frustrated at the beginning not being able to walk normal and the snow was so slippery she had a hard time moving the skis!
Here she is with her instructor Teacher Valerie, she was fabulous! I can't believe how fast they get them going up the bunny hill and going down! Wow! At one point 20 minutes into the lessons she started to cry and wanted to see mommy. So I came over and she said mommy my feet her and my legs feel like burning, LOL, she wasn't used to that feeling! Welcome to skiing! I told her to go out again and try a little bit longer, and she loved it!
Here she is going flying down the hill! She is still trying to get her balance but she did exceptionally well!
We look forward to heading to Hemlock again on Friday night for $5 skiing! Can't wait to see how well she does again!

Opinions Please!

I am just not happy with the way I have Madeline's Bedroom Decorated!
Here is an overview of what her room is like, she has weinscotting over half way up her wall, vintage white furniture, a canopy bed with out the canopy, right now she has a bright green wall colour, a mauve chandelier....

Here is what I am thinking, I want to go the shabby chic way....I am thinking of changing her wall colour to a light pink, taking down her chandelier which is adorable it just doesn't suit the room in my opinion.
I will go through the pictures I posted, I will write a comment under each picture of parts I love about what I posted!

I tihnk the little framed pieces are adorable! I like the brightness of the decor but not sure if I want to go that bright!

Here is a sample of the birdcage chandelier I am thinking of, below is one I found at McBurney Junction in Langley, but I highly doubt they still have it. But I do have an electrician for a husband so he could turn a vintage birdcage into a chandelier!

I love the tree on the wall and the lanterns hanging!
I love love the branch with the fabric floating toward the bed, I also absolutley love the butterfly and initial on the bed! Currently she has a white bed cover that I love!

Now to go somewhere totally different I love the wall paper and white washed wood floors, but the floors are not an option, I tried to convince our builder but he thought I was crazy!!!! Ummm nope I am not crazy they would of looked FABULOUS!

Love these accent pillows! Especially the turqouise!

Here is the Bird Cage Chandelier that I found at McBurney Station in Langley, I know what your thinking why didnt you buy it! It is gorgeous!!!
Anyways see all of my ideas!!!! HELP!
World Vision Dance a thon by Wind and Tide Preschool!!!

In 2004 Wind and Tide began a partnership with World Vision Canada to provide help to the children of Africa. Since beginning this partnership, we have seen a school built and furnished and now we are participating in a project called Alive by 5. With the monies raised, while our students dance, World Vision is able to provide the following to children and families in Ethiopia:
  1. Improve dietary intake for children under five and families
  2. Improves access to essential health services and healthy environments
  3. Strengthen capacity of communities and institutions to implements programs to address malnutrition
  4. Area Development Programs
Each year we have the privilege of hearing stories from our World Vision Representative of how the support from Wind and Tide families is making a difference in the lives of children and families in Ethiopia.
At the beginning of February, your child will bring home a letter along with a donation envelope explaining how your family can get involved with this project. Participation in this project is completely optional. If you choose not to participate as a family, your child will still feel that they are participating as a member of the class.
In the middle of February, all Wind and Tide students will spend a day dancing in their classrooms. Leading up to that day, the teachers will explain to the students how their day of dancing will make a difference in the lives of many children and families in Ethiopia. Families are encouraged to join us on our dance-a-thon day, but you must be warned that dancing is NOT optional!!
If you would like to learn more about World Vision, visit their website at www.worldvision.ca

Friday the children from Wind and Tide will do a dance a thon for World Vision. All of the procedes will go directly to help children in need, not one penny will go to Admistration purposes! If you would like to donate to the cause please let me know. The kids have a fabulous job and Wind and Tide does an exceptional job putting it on!!!  This is Madeline and Addysen last year during the dance a thon!!! Just fabulous!!!

VALENTINES PARTY

We had an extra full day today, as I told you in the last post we hosted a Valentines party for the girls Preschool Class! It was wonderful 14 kids came and they played, decorated cookies and did a cute birdy craft!

Here they are decorating cookies, thanks to the moms that stayed to help. We couldn't have done it without them. Let me tell you there was a lot of Icing, Sprinkles and taste testing going on.
After the kids decorated cookies, they went to play and then after a little while they came and had some wonderful snacks, also thanks  to all the Preschool Moms!!

After alot of eating and drinking, the headed off to play once more!
We finished off the afternoon with a cute bird craft!!! Most of the kids made one, a few just wanted to play!!!! The girls had a blast! There were alot of toys, sprinkles and glue to clean up afterwards but it was well worth it!!!

Girly Girl

I love to dress my girl as everyone knows! I love all different styles of dressing from Fancy to Converse with dresses. My mom gave Madeline a pair of Fabulous socks for Easter last year that she had embellished with lace! I loved them so much, they look adorable with dresses of all different styles.
I posted a picture on facebook a while back with Madeline in a super cute Gap Dress with the black knee socks with the lace around them. I was shocked with all the comments I got about the fabulous socks my mom made. I decided that I need to try and make these socks, and SUCCESS I did it!
I have decided that it would be a fabulous hobby!

So far all the socks I've made for for size 9-11 shoe size but I am looking for othere sizes especially little girls. I didn't realized it would be so hard to find 2 year old knee socks, I am determined to find some!
The price I am considering is between $10 and $12 a pair. What do you think do you think too much?
They wash and dry great! They finish off an outfit!!!
I love these stripped ones, Madeline wore them with her Valentine outfit today with Black Converse running shoes, she looked absolutley adorable!
Anyway just thought I would share this fun new project that I am doing :) Here she is in all her glory sporting the super cute knee socks.  Hope you all have a great day, My sister and I are hosting with our girls a Valentine's Party for the girls class today! I am doing the craft and my sister has al the cookies ready for the kids to decorate. Later today I am hoping to post the fun we had with the kids!!!!
